Welcome to CESSI 2024
Hi all,

Welcome to CESSI 2024!

Tuition
If you have not paid your tuition yet, please do so asap! The longer that you wait, the more likely it is you will be hit with late fees, and unfortunately we may not be able to remove them. If you are a Title VIII or FLAS student and are still seeing a balance on your account, please let us know.

Canvas & CESSI Box
By now, you should all have access to canvas and should see your course on the Canvas home page. You should also see the WISLI student handbook page on Canvas as well - if not, please let me know.
Additionally, we will be giving you access to the student box - we'll upload some useful documents here from time to time so its worthwhile keeping this box in mind.

Student Resources
Disability Resources
The McBurney Disability Resource Center is the office for students with disabilities and disability-related classroom accommodations at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. If you are in need of accommodations for your studies at WISLI, it is best to start this process now, so arrangements are made in time for summer! You can explore available accommodations on the McBurney website.

Housing & Trasportation Resources
If you are still looking for housing for your time here in Madison, be sure to check out WISLI's housing resources webpage! Here, you can find information on available university housing, private dormitories, cooperative housing, and more

Be sure to also check out our transportation webpage for information on campus parking and transit!

Wiscard Access to Facilities
As a student at UW-Madison, you will receive a Wiscard, which will serve as your student ID and can be used at the following facilities:

  • The university's recreational facilities
  • Campus dining halls (with the purchase of a summer dining plan)
  • Wisconsin Union restaurants (5% discount)
  • University Bookstore (5% discount)
  • Campus libraries
  • InfoLabs

Save the Date
Be part of the WISLI Student Conference on June 29! Take advantage of this great academic opportunity to hear original research on various disciplines across area and transnational studies and network with other scholars studying with CESSI and the other WISLI institutes this summer!

This is a hybrid event, taking place in-person at the Pyle Center and via Zoom (link will be provided later for online participants). In-person and distance learners are encouraged to participate!

Attendance at the conference is free and open to the public!

This free interactive, in-person workshop provides an opportunity for CESSI students to develop career planning skills to leverage language study and promote long-term target language development in professional settings. Learn more about the workshop here, and stay tuned for information about the panels that will be featured at this year's LCTL Career Fair on July 24-25.
