"I showed great progress in my reading skills, which I am pleased with - the texts that we engaged with were of a variety of sources (literature, short stories, poetry, autobiographies, newspaper articles, etc). I also learned about East Turkistan IN Uyghur. I learned local history, that I was not familiar with before CESSI, in the local language."
-- 2024 Uyghur Student
|
"In terms of events for the programs, I think that the lecture series was beyond excellent."
-- 2024 Uyghur Student
---------------------------------------------
"I enjoyed when we had outside material (i.e YouTube videos) or when we engaged in cultural practices like reading a poem or learning about cultural idioms."
-- 2024 Tajik Student
|
I liked that we switched off between working with the instructor and having individual time to process what we had just learned and practice at our own pace. It allowed me to grasp grammatical concepts at a quicker pace."
-- 2024 Kazakh Student
--------------------------------------------
"Having a mix of government and academic speakers was great. I enjoyed the chance to meet with speakers one-on-one in office hours."'
