July 13-14, 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Virtual, In this workshop, you’ll learn how deep learning works through hands-on exercises in computer vision and natural language processing (tokenization and word embeddings). You’ll train deep learning models from scratch, learning tools and tricks to achieve highly accurate results. You’ll also learn to leverage freely available, state-of-the-art pre-trained models to save time and get your deep learning application up and running quickly. The workshop takes place virtually. August 1st-4th & August 8th-9th, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Virtual, Genomics Data Carpentry teaches individuals working in genomics the fundamental data skills needed to conduct research. Its target audience is researchers who have little to no prior computational experience building on learners' existing knowledge to enable them to quickly apply skills learned to their own research. This workshop includes project organization and management, Unix Shell, and data analysis and visualization with R. Register for Genomics Data Carpentry by July 25.

Database Manager, Department of Surgery
The Division of Endocrine Surgery seeks a motivated student researcher to assist with management of surgical outcomes databases. Responsibilities include performing data abstraction from clinic notes, operative notes, imagining studies, and lab results in the electronic health record, performing data entry into three separate endocrine surgery outcomes databases (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal), assisting researchers in querying data from the three databases, and assisting with other tasks.
