Being a TA in the U.S. Classroom
These workshops aim to help you succeed as a TA by providing practical strategies for cross-cultural teaching and communication.
You will:
- Build your professional communication skills for clear, warm, and effective interactions with students in discussions, labs, lectures, and office/student hours
- Practice these skills in community with fellow TAs
- Enhance your confidence as a teacher and communicator in academic and other professional settings
Who can participate: All UW–Madison TAs are welcome. For example, you may be new to the U.S. or to Wisconsin, or new to teaching in the U.S., or you may have good experience and advice to share with peers about teaching in a U.S. university.
