The early 4-week summer session is coming to an end, and many of you may be bringing your summer teaching to a close. Though some of you may have further teaching this summer, for most, this is the final stretch for you and your summer courses. In this edition of Learning Forward, we have put together some helpful information to help guide you through the last few days of your course. Like the squirrel, jump to victory, you got this!

 Strategies for Reviewing Student Feedback 

When students provide feedback on your teaching, how do you know what is important? How do you decide what to change for the future? Start with these nine research-based strategies from the L&S Instructional Design Collaborative.

How to Enter & Submit Final Grades

As an LSA, submitting final grades is likely one of your responsibilities. The Office of the Registrar provides a step-by-step guide to entering grades in Faculty Center.
 

Returning TA Workshop August 28


L&S hosts the next Returning TA Workshop for L&S graduate students on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Participants will:

  • Identify personal strengths and growth areas related to teaching.
  • Communicate and begin implementing a consistent, practical, and values-aligned teaching philosophy.
  • Select strategies for prioritizing work and managing time.
  • Practice incorporating new strategies to resolve common teaching challenges.
  • Determine which Canvas tools to use to solve and prevent teaching challenges.

Now get out there and enjoy all the lovely ducklings on the shores of Lake Mendota!
