Change & Renewal

Adapting to New Email Service Provider Requirements

While many of us may think of it as a fixed "established" medium, the email industry indeed continues to evolve. We must meet the moment! In case you missed it, last fall Google and Yahoo announced new requirements for large volume email senders. In other words, they are taking stronger actions to stop spam.

Our campus Eloqua instance already meets many of the new requirements. The Marketing Automation team is taking the next steps to ensure email deliverability of our campus Eloqua instance by adding mitigating features provided by Oracle. And to avoid UW–Madison Eloqua contacts reporting our messages as spam, we will be adding an Email Group unsubscribe link in our UW–Madison default email Header. This is simply enhancing our existing standard practice of having a single unsubscribe link in the footer, and we are adding it to the top of the email as well.

New Simple Campaigns User Interface via Eloqua 24B Update

As we announced in the May ‘23 Marketing Automation News, the new Oracle “Redwood” user interface for Eloqua is being rolled out in stages. All campus users can experience the new look and navigation of Redwood by checking a box on the left navigation menu to toggle on the new interface.

Feature areas included the recent May 17 update are a new Simple Campaign guided process, Campaign launcher ability to create a new folder while moving a campaign to a new folder, New Contacts page grid display, and more.

Redwood Demo Recap: May 29 Eloqua User Group Meeting

In case you missed it, we held an Eloqua User Group meeting on Wednesday, May 29 to review and discuss this new campaign tool along with the progress of the Redwood interface. Almost 90 of you registered to join, and we thank you for making time to be there.  If you couldn’t make it, you can access the session recording, which we will also share via a dedicated email to the registration list next week, along with links to a few more resources.

If you’d like to subscribe to our campus Eloqua User Group emails, adjust your email preferences here.

Spring Cleaning: Tidy Up Eloqua Assets

With all of us on campus using Eloqua, our instance can start to feel like we’re living in a large dwelling akin to those along Langdon Street (you get the idea). More than unkempt, it can be downright challenging to conduct email business at times.  Each spring, the marketing automation team tackles some much-needed spring cleaning to our Eloqua instance and we’d like to ask you to join us.
