Meet the L&S Teaching Mentors

The L&S TA Training & Support Team welcomes and trains hundreds of new Teaching Assistants each year. Teaching Mentors are the heart of this crucial undertaking: they serve as facilitators at the annual Fall TA Training event by L&S and provide mentorship throughout the semester. This year's Teaching Mentors represent several departments and programs across L&S.

Therapy Dog and Pizza for Graduate Student Appreciation Week

L&S TA Community Recharge is a monthly event designed for L&S graduate student instructors to relax, connect, and recharge. This is a dedicated space to step away from the demands of teaching and research and simply enjoy the company of peers in a supportive and informal setting. For April, we are welcoming all L&S Graduate Students in recognition of Graduate Student Appreciation Week. There will be pizza, community, and a therapy dog. See you this Thursday, April 9th in Van Vleck B123 at 4:00pm.

Meet the TA Award Winners

Tomorrow, the thirty-two Graduate Students who recieved this years Campus-Wide TA Awards will be officially recognized in an awards ceremony. To recognize the excellence of TAs across campus, the Graduate School, the College of Letters & Science, and the Morgridge Center sponsor these annual awards. Volunteer judges selected awardees for four categories: early excellence, advanced achievement, capstone teaching, and community-based learning. The Dorothy Powelson Awards recognize outstanding performance by TAs in the natural sciences.

Learning Forward is brought to you by the L&S TA Training & Support Team.
