Explore Curricular Data with Tableau Visualizations
This Friday, December 8, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, Clare Huhn, DAPIR analyst, will showcase five workbooks that contain curricular information and discuss how they can be used to learn more about course offerings and outcomes and how UW–Madison students interact with courses.

This session is helpful for staff involved in instruction, assessment, program review, and curricular planning, though all are welcome to attend. No advance registration is required. Join the Teams Meeting on your computer or cell phone. If you do not automatically enter the meeting, select LA Community of Practice Meetings from the menu on the left to enter it.

The Learning Analytics Center of Excellence (LACE) is the event sponsor.  The Learning Analytics Community of Practice (LA CoP) meets regularly on the 2nd Friday of each month from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm and is an informal place to share what you’re interested in, what you’re working on, and explore topics that may be of interest.

New Video Tutorial Shows How to Slice and Dice Payroll Data
The Department Planning Profiles for Payroll visualization is updated with October 2023 data. Because the visualization's features have expanded and grown more complex, a new brief video tutorial teaches you how to navigate the visualization, including search and filter options that allow for analyzing the current year or examining trends over time.

If you have questions, feedback, or requests for accessibility assistance, contact Noah Natzke, DAPIR analyst.

Institutional data. What it is & what it is not.
Institutional data is any information used by or for the university to conduct university business. Owned and governed by UW–Madison, institutional data is a critical shared resource. Examples of it include:
  • student records,
  • employee records,
  • financial information, and
  • facilities information.
It is important to note institutional data is governed separate from research data, which is generated by research conducted at the university.
