Strategies for Success in Survey Administration and Analysis  | Monday the 12th  from 1 pm to 2 pm. Struggling with how to create a survey, manage survey fatigue, or wrangle survey data into actionable information? Our panel of experts will address these issues in a one-hour conversation. UW–Madison's Sara Lazenby, Institutional Policy Analyst, is a featured presenter along with others from Big 10 Universities.  

Community Perspectives – Faculty Experiences with Data Support | Monday the 12th from 3 pm to 4 pm. On this panel faculty members from University of Maryland and The Ohio State University will provide their perspectives on and concerns about their institutions’ use of data in support of their teaching and research.

Community Perspectives—Student and Data Use | Tuesday the 13th from 10 am to 11 am. Students from the University of Maryland and The Ohio State University will discuss their perspectives on and concerns about the institutional use of their data.

Community Perspectives—Administrative Views on Ethics, Governance, and Data Use Tuesday the 13th, from 2 pm to 3 pm. Data, privacy, and security leaders from across the Big 10 will provide their perspectives on when and how data should be accessed and used and their concerns about the risks data can represent.

The Xs and Os: Athletes, Assessment, and Academic Success | Wednesday the 14th from 9 am to 10 am. Join Dan Roher (UW–Madison) and others from the Big 10 as they explore how athletics and data providers can move beyond the mandated reporting requirements and into the realm of internal assessment for program improvement and student support.

Data Governance Trivia | Thursday the 15th, from 1 pm to 2:30 pm. Test your data knowledge with others across the Big 10!

Community Perspectives—Bringing it All Together | Thursday the 15th from 3 pm to 4 pm. Students, faculty, and administrators will come together to discuss their shared understanding of, concerns about, and expectations for their institutions’ use of data.

Data Viz Championship Showcase | Friday the 16th from 1 pm to 2:30 pm. Join us to witness cutting-edge data visualization entries from Big 10 Universities. Be there to discover the champion that redefines the art of data visualization!

Dr. Chloe Fouilloux (faculty/staff submission) and Prajakta Godbole (student submission) are representing UW–Madison at the inaugural BTAA Data Viz Championship and they need your votes!

  • Voting is open through noon, February 16, 2024. 
  • Individuals can only vote once for the faculty/staff winner and once for the student winner.  
  • Individuals must be members of a Big Ten institution, as determined by the email address submitted on the voting form. 
The challenge will be won by the visualization with the most votes in each category. Let’s help make Dr. Chloe Fouilloux and Prajakta Godbole champions!  The BTAA's website has a complete list of faculty/staff and student entries from across the Big 10.
