Data Governance Roles: Trustees and Stewards and You!
Data Trustees. University officials with authority over institutional data or the university’s use, as designated by the Data Governance Council. Trustees are accountable for managing, protecting, and ensuring the integrity and usefulness of institutional data while complying with all applicable state and federal laws and policies of UW-Madison and the UW System.
Institutional Data Stewards. Help define, implement, and enforce data management policies and procedures within their specific data domain. They have delegated responsibility for all aspects of how data is acquired, used, stored, and protected throughout its entire lifecycle (from acquisition through disposition).
You. As a UW Madison employee, you contribute your efforts and expertise daily to your workplace. While formal data governance roles exist, everyone is responsible for appropriately managing and using institutional data.

An avid home chef, Noah enjoys experimenting with ingredients and is always open to recipe and tip swaps.
Noah is excited to join DAPIR and dive in. As a Business Intelligence Developer, Noah will assist users in building new Tableau workbooks, maintain and optimize existing workbooks, and administer both the Tableau server and Data Cookbook (Madison’s data catalog).
