Great Lakes ROTA-RC Partner: Purdue Extension

Purdue Extension is the outreach arm of Purdue University, serving communities in all 92 counties of Indiana. Dedicated to providing research-based solutions, Purdue Extension spans diverse program areas to foster positive impact and improve quality of life across the state.

Purdue Extension's community-based programs, initiatives, and resources address mental health and substance use across four program areas: Agricultural and Natural Resources, 4-H Youth Development, Community Development, and Health & Human Sciences. Purdue Extension partners with local communities to approach these complex issues proactively with hope and positivity.

Over the past 5 years, Purdue Extension has been committed to strengthening partnerships with statewide organizations that focus on treatment and recovery efforts, scaling up efforts to deliver Mental Health First Aid in rural communities, developing a new curriculum to address mental health and substance use in workplaces, and creating a video series that provides education and awareness about mental health and substance use issues. Purdue Extension has been a recipient of SAMHSA's Rural Opioid Technical Assistance Grant program and is now part of the Great Lakes ROTA-RC partnership.

Do Do You Need Technical Assistance (TA)?

By technical assistance, we don't mean resolving technical issues related to hardware or software. Our technical assistance is targeted support using a culturally relevant, evidence-based, holistic approach to help rural communities build capacity, as well as plan and implement programming. Great Lakes ROTA-RC collaborates with internal and external providers to customize and tailor responses to meet your needs!
