Brachytherapy Workshop for Residents Available at ASTRO 2025
Radiation oncology residents had a unique opportunity available at this year’s American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) annual meeting. A new workshop entitled: Principles and Skills of Brachytherapy, was offered Saturday, September 27th hosted by the Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology (ARRO).
Dr. Kristin Bradley and Dr. Mustafa Basree (pictured right), moderated and presented portions of the workshop. Through a series of lectures and hands-on experience, residents had the chance to ask leaders in the field questions, spend time with industry representatives, practice peri-rectal gel insertion, and sharpen brachytherapy skills to treat prostate and gynecological cancers.

POWERING RESEARCH. CURING CANCER.
Over 3,000 people came together on Sunday, September 21st at the new UW Health Eastpark Medical Center for the 10th Annual Badger Challenge. Participants biked, ran, or walked to support cancer research at UW–Madison and the Carbone Cancer Center. It was a powerful day of remembrance, hope, and celebration, raising over $625,000. All funds stay local and directly support research through the Badger Challenge Scholar program. Our 2025 Scholars will be announced at the end of October—thank you to everyone who made this event a success!
