Christy Clark-Pujara’s current research project started when students wanted to know more about Black history in Wisconsin. Now, the chair and a professor in the Department of African American Studies is digging into the archives to find stories of Black northerners and Midwesterners during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Deanna Frater (x’26) spent last summer swimming in a pool of opportunities while soaking up knowledge from her internship with Roc Nation, the entertainment company owned by rapper and record producer Jay-Z. With the help of SuccessWorks’ internship fund and winter job shadowing programs, Frater explored solutions to some of the toughest social issues facing Wisconsin. Read More

Night time at Memorial Union Terrace Lakeside Cinema
At UW–Madison, summer means SOAR. The two-day Student Orientation, Advising and Registration program welcomes incoming Badgers and shows them what the Wisconsin Experience is all about. During SOAR students enroll in classes and are introduced to the many resources available to them throughout their academic experience. Plus, there are tons of opportunities to have a whole lot of fun.
