For more than 40 years, researchers at the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies — a partnership between UW–Madison and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration — have been working to turn satellite data into faster and more accurate weather forecasts. Mapping History
Tucked away in Science Hall, researchers in the Department of Geography have been working on an award-winning global initiative called the History of Cartography Project. The project is a research, editorial and publishing venture that seeks to draw attention to the history of maps and mapping, and after 48 years it is nearing the finish lines. Read More
