Communications Manager Kara Rheingans selected for 2024-25 Strategic Communication Leadership Development Program

Kara was recently selected to participate in the 2024-2025 Strategic Communication Leadership Development Program. The program selects 10-15 marketing and communication professionals from across campus to receive enhanced professional development and training opportunities from September through June. Kara will have the opportunity to grow professionally, build her campus network and enhance her collaboration with the Office of Strategic Communication. Congratulations, Kara!

Professor Mike Wagner co-moderates forum of Dane County executive candidates

Mike co-moderated a forum of Dane County executive candidates in an event co-sponsored by the CCCR and the Dane County League of Women Voters. Watch the forum.

Professor Mike Wagner ends eight-year run as Founding Editor of Forum section of Political Communication

Mike ended his eight-year run as the Founding Editor of the Forum section of the journal Political Communication. Prior to his departure, he penned a farewell essay. Read the full essay.
 

Publications

Associate professor Sijia Yang publishes new article in Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication

A team of CAMER researchers including Sijia and PhD students Mengyu Li and Gaofei Li recently published an article titled "Correction by distraction: how high-tempo music enhances medical experts’ debunking TikTok videos," in the Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication. The article explores the effects of background music on improving the effectiveness of debunking TikTok videos produced by medical professionals. Read the full article.
