Curb Magazine wins CSPA 2025 Crown Award
The Columbia Scholastic Press Association named Curb: Fusion as one of its Crown Award finalists for 2023. Crown Awards are the highest recognition given by the CSPA to a student print or digital medium for overall excellence. Finalists will be awarded either a Silver or Gold Crown at the CSPA 101st Annual Spring Convention on March 21, 2025, on the Columbia University campus in New York City. Her work examines in 14 countries how legacies of an authoritarian past and certain cultural dimensions (power distance, collectivism, and uncertainty avoidance), shape the relationships between media use, political conversation, and political participation
Professor Lucas Graves delivers talk in Copenhagen
Lucas traveled to Copenhagen this week to give a talk about the changes and challenges in global fact-checking. His talk considered the institution-building formula that a diverse community of fact-checkers used to expand their movement to more than 100 countries – and how that formula has left this emerging democratic institution vulnerable to shifting stakeholder priorities in a climate of mounting resistance to anti-disinformation efforts.
