Professor Karyn Riddle named to Library Resources Committee for the Arts, Social Services and Humanities

Karyn has been named to the Library Resources Committee for the Arts, Social Services and Humanities for a three-year term. The Committee is responsible for advising the libraries and University Library Committee about research needs specific and unique to scholars in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Congratulations, Karyn!

Professor Mike Wagner and PhD alum Jo Lukito featured in Wisconsin Watch guide to  misinformation on social media

Mike and Jo discussed their disinformation research in Wisconsin Watch's article titled, "Misinformation, Disinformation: A guide to sorting fiction from reality." The guide describes the types of information disorder, how to identify it and how to protect yourself from it. Read the full guide.

Professor Mike Wagner and research team awarded AEJMC Article of the Year in Mass Communication and Society

Mike, PhD student Jianing Li, and PhD alums Jordan Foley and Omar Dumdum won the Article of the Year Award in Mass Communication and Society for their paper, "The Power of a Genre: Political News Reporting Presented as Fact-Checking Increases Accurate Belief Updating and Hostile Media Perceptions." The Article of the Year Award is selected based on the advancement of theory, quality of writing and impact of the research. They will receive their award at the AEJMC annual conference in August. Congratulations, Mike, Jianing, Jordan and Omar!
