Professor Mike Wagner featured on In Focus with Murv Seymour on PBS Wisconsin
Last week, Mike sat down with Murv Seymour on In Focus to discuss teaching journalism in the 2020s as well as his life and career.
"We have to have a place that we can trust where we can learn about what's happening, and that's the news media. It's not social media." Watch Mike's full interview.
Director Katy Culver featured in PolitiFact article about the ethics of revealing a juvenile defendant's identity
After two juvenile suspects were taken into custody for the Feb. 14 Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade shooting, their identities were kept private in accordance to Missouri law. This is a stark contrast to 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse whose name and photo was all over the news when he was arrested for the 2020 shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Katy weighed in on the ethics and responsibility of journalists to weigh a minor's right to privacy and the public's right to know when deciding to identify juvenile defendants.
