Abby and Yiming were chosen for a summer PA appointment from the Elections Research Center. They will collaborate with professor Mike Wagner on election-related research. Congratulations, Abby and Yiming!

Article in Political Violence at a Glance magazine
CCCR Executive Director Nathan Kalmoe and his co-author Lily Mason published an article in the online magazine Political Violence at a Glance, which is edited by contentious politics scholars. The article explores U.S. public opposition to armed demonstrations. Read the full article.

April 28: Alumni Awards Celebration
Please join us for an evening honoring our 2023 award winners. Celebrate the accomplishments of alumni and students receiving awards including the Distinguished Service Award, Ralph O. Nafziger Award, Harold L. Nelson Award, Sharon Dunwoody Award, Graduate Student Awards and James L. Baughman Senior Achievement Awards. May 1: Emerging Scholars Speaker Series: A conversation with Miya Williams Fayne and Robert Chappell
Join us for a conversation with Miya Williams Fayne, assistant professor at Cal State Fullerton and incoming assistant professor at SJMC, and Robert Chappell, associate publisher of Madison 365, about "Misinformation in BIPOC Communities." The event will be held in the Nafziger Conference Room (5055 Vilas) from Noon–2 p.m.
May 9: SJMC Inclusion Town Hall
All undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff are invited for this evaluation of our diversity, equity and inclusion work during 2022 and 2023. We will also collectively plan our SJMC DEI Agenda for 2023-2024 during this event. This is important work we are committed to doing transparently and collaboratively, understanding that inclusive goals must be widely committed at all levels of our community. Lunch will be served but we kindly request you RSVP in advance so we know how much to plan for.
