Seeking dogs with AGASACA for diagnostic imaging study
UW Veterinary Care Clinical Studies is seeking dogs for voluntary participation in an ongoing study evaluating the utility of PET/CT, an advanced, non-invasive diagnostic imaging scan, in identifying cancer spread in dogs with Apocrine Gland Anal Sac Adenocarcinoma (AGASACA) before they have surgery.

Any dog that has been diagnosed with AGASACA by cytology and has not already had surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation is eligible to participate.

All costs associated with the PET/CT scan are covered by the study. Owners will be responsible for the cost of a prior diagnosis, additional diagnostics, and any medications needed to be taken home.

Paws and pulse: Learning pet vitals
UW Veterinary Care clients are invited to our Client Learning and Lending Center each month for hands-on training to support at-home care for animals. The Tuesday, June 23 session is “Paws and pulse: Learning pet vitals.” Attendees at this session, free and open to UWVC clients, will learn how to assess heart rate, breathing, hydration, temperature, and other vitals in their pet.
This hands-on practice helps build confidence in recognizing important changes to your pet’s health and understanding when veterinary care may be needed.

The CLLC is a partner in your pet’s health journey. Through hands-on training and expert guidance, the CLLC empowers UWVC clients to confidently provide at-home care recommended by our expert team members.
