Are you a new TA looking to get feedback on your verbal communication skills in the classroom?
Are you a seasoned TA looking for someone outside of your department who can tell you how you are doing in the classroom?
Are you in your last year of teaching and preparing for your faculty interviews and teaching demos?
The Peer Observation Program (POP) enhances your effectiveness as a teacher right now. It also prepares you for your future career: jobs in academia and industry need people who can give and receive constructive feedback.
At POP, we team you up with a fellow participant with similar interests and teaching experiences for one observation, and then assign you an experienced TA and observer to offer personalized feedback tailored to your unique teaching goals.
The L&S Teaching Mentors are passionate and knowledgeable graduate student teachers with proven track records for teaching excellence. Up to 20 L&S graduate students will be selected as L&S Teaching Mentors to help facilitate the annual L&S Fall TA Training and to provide mentorship to new TAs.
Submitting final grades in Faculty Center may be one of your responsibilities. (If you are unsure, check with your lead instructor). The Office of the Registrar provides a step-by-step guide to entering grades.
