The Clean Water Action Council of NE Wisconsin is seeking an Executive Director to start January 2, 2025, or earlier, when executive director Dean Hoegger retires.This is a 20-24 hours-per-week position with flexible hours offering the opportunity to guide the organization into the next decade. Work at the UW-Green Bay office with college interns, board members, and volunteer members to carry out the mission of protecting human health and the environment in NE Wisconsin. This is a 12-month, Academic Staff position. The position provides statewide outreach education to residents, public officials, and other stakeholders of Wisconsin on groundwater, well water testing, data interpretation, and general water resources. This individual will be expected to provide high quality programming and leadership on groundwater and drinking water quality challenges in Wisconsin and the region, build trust-based relationships with stakeholders, and seek a diverse funding portfolio to support their groundwater programming.

WQRF is inviting researchers to submit concept papers (not to exceed 5 pages) on the efficacy of point-of-use (POU) and point-of-entry (POE) drinking water treatment technologies in real-world settings. Call for current undergrad – post-graduate students interested in drinking water to participate in our next competitive call for posters. Up to 10 students will be selected to share their findings in water quality research OR public health education at the annual Water Quality Association Convention in Long Beach, CA, Apr. 22-24, 2025. All those selected will receive a $500 travel stipend. One winner from each category will be awarded a $1,000 David Loveday Memorial Scholarship for continued educational expenses. This intern will develop and implement a robust wetland monitoring plan in a high-quality Great Lakes Coastal Wetland to inform and enhance regional wetland restoration efforts. A competitive applicant will have a strong scientific background in a field related to the position and the ability to work independently and synthesize input from a broad range of partners. They will also have experience working in diverse coalitions of scientists, land managers and outreach professionals and with state, federal and tribal nation natural resource management staff. The program is an NSF-funded initiative (award #1831075, 2019-2021) to provide training in international research for graduate students. The LOREX international exchanges will allow up to 12 graduate students to travel to host institutions in Australia, Canada, Israel and Sweden to conduct collaborative aquatic science research that they propose this summer (2025). The UW–Madison Arboretum offers Research Fellowships for graduate student researchers. We seek proposals that will address our mission and vision and build on a tradition that began with the earliest plantings to establish tallgrass prairie in 1935 and continued with subsequent experiments to maintain these early restorations. We're looking to support projects in ANY field, as long as their work pertains to restoration and the mission of the Arboretum. Please see the description below and link to the application page. The Freshwater@UW Summer Research Opportunities Program provides high-impact educational opportunities by facilitating immersive, hands-on mentored research experiences in freshwater science across the 13 UW Institutions.
